G8-protest in Wellington, Neuseeland

Day of Action Against Climate Change.

Solidarity anti-G8 action in Kiew (Ukraine

8th of june from 13-00 till 14-30 group of anarchists (No border initiative, World is not for sale and MAFIA (Carroteating Autonomus federative initiative)), leftwing activists (New leltists(Basta, Left initiative)), antifascists carried on an solidarity action against G8 summit and repressions in Germany. About 50 people took part in march. There were black and red flags, many banners and posters: I :( G8, power of g8 is not authority for the world, No privatisation of life, No borders and other.

We started with picket near Ministry of foreign affairs. We talked in megaphone about politics of G8, about protests in Germany, repressions against activists. One could heard slogans: No G8, G8 is illegal, there are only 8 of them and millions of us, G8 is against us – we are against G8, and other against G8 and capitalism.

We spreaded 2 kinds of leaflets: made by leftists and anarchists.

Many journalists were presented.

Then we moved by one busy center street to German embassy. On the way we shouted slogans and spreaded leaflets. People reacted different, mostly ignoring.

Near German embassy we reminded about brutal attacks and repressions in Germany now. And swished Gute nacht G8.

Anti-G8 solidarity action in Seoul, Korea

On June 6th, the first day of massive blockades of the meeting in Heiligendamm, Germany, a roaming anti-G8 bike tour cruised through Seoul flying anti-G8 flags.
The group joined up with others at a busy downtown intersection, to hand out flyers and talk about the G8 to people walking by. Passersby stopped to watch when a bunch of evil-looking masked men in suits-- the G8 leaders-- sung a song promising to make the rich richer and the poor poorer. Then small farmers, immigrants and other assorted good guys took on the G8 leaders in a short but dramatic "professional wrestling" match. The G8 leaders played dirty but it wasn't enough. They were of course thoroughly beaten, just like in Germany...

Solidarity action in Moscow

Blockade of the German embassy in Moscow
On the 8th of June the German embassy in Moscow was blocked with lock-ons by the group of anarchists. This action was against illegitim and inhuman G8 and against repression of German police towards protesters. Activists managed to block the building more than an hour. Then they were surrounded by police and brutally arrested.

G8 Solidarität Aktion in Australien (Sydney)

On Friday the 8th of June Australian Anarchists did a solidarity action in support of German and international anti-G8 mobilisations. The action involved some of the activists entering the consulate and demanding that they speak to the German Consular General and that a message be passed on to the German ambassador. The deputy consular general spoke with the demonstrators and was informed that "the Group of Eight is an illegitimate body and the German State's involvement in the G8 only further demonstrates the illegitimacy of its own existence."

The demonstrators also covered the lobby and exterior of the building with posters with the German text:
"Staat statt freiheit? G8 - nie wieder!" ("state instead of freedom? G8 - never again!") this text was accompanied by photos of police brutality from the Genoa G8. Another poster read "No G8! Die Antiglobalisierungsbewegung gibt's auch in Australien! No pasaran! Solidarität gegen G8!" ("No G8! The anti globalisation movement also exists in Australia. Solidarity against G8!"). They then left peacefully only to spot two SUV's full of the new "NSW public order and riot squad" approaching the consulate presumably to arrest them, they were however, a minute too late. Reportedly there was also a blockade planned for the German Embassy in Canberra on Monday the 11th of June however this has not been confirmed.

The demonstrators had hoped to make a symbolic action in support of German and international anti-G8 mobilisations, against the German State's involvement in the G8, and against the German State's (and all other State's) existence in general, to these ends they were successful. The actions were done to demonstrate that the opposition to government and capital are global, and in the hope that international activists would feel inspired to take part in solidarity actions when George Bush and the APEC countries meet in Sydney in September.
